Ryco’s 4x4 Catch Can

Even with meticulous maintenance, sludge build-up is inevitable. The best way to keep a CRD diesel engine running at peak performance is by using a Ryco Catch Can. A Catch Can will separate oil, hydrocarbons, soot, and condensation from the crankcase gasses, making the recirculated air cleaner.

Ryco Catch Cans filter out crankcase gases that create intake carbon build-up and contaminate a vehicle’s engine eventually causing power loss.

Ryco advises that after fitting a new Catch Can, drain the Catch Can Sump after 1000 kilometres of driving and measure the amount of oil that comes out. This will give you a better understanding of the engine's blow-by characteristics and a more exact idea of how often your Catch Can should be drained. For instance, if 50ml of oil is drained after 1000 kilometres, your vehicle is better suited to a 5000-kilometre Catch Can drain interval.

Be sure to check sump levels every month or every 5000 kilometres, whichever comes first. If you’re towing or driving off-road, Ryco recommends checking the Catch Can daily.
