Triple Eight Race Engineering have revealed their unique livery that will feature on the team’s Supercheap Auto-backed wildcard for the 2022 Bathurst 1000, with a reveal hosted in front of hundreds of fans at Supercheap Auto’s Bathurst store.

The striking livery adorns the faces of thousands of race fans who submitted via a competition to feature on the #888 Holden Commodore ZB.

The ‘heartbeat’ emblazoned on the supercar is reference to the fans and their passion behind the sport, and the mountains featured on the rear-quarter panels of the car are a nod to the iconic Mount Panorama landscape. The ‘MAKE IT SUPER’ refers to the new Supercheap Auto brand - Whoever You Are, Whatever You Drive, MAKE IT SUPER!

The livery also features support from Supercheap Auto’s partners: Century Batteries, Armor All, Bendix, Bosch, Sperling, K&N Filters and ToolPRO.

One of the most iconic names associated with the Bathurst 1000, Craig Lowndes, will team up with Triple Eight’s Super2 Championship leader, Declan Fraser for this year’s Great Race, with the latter making his Supercars debut at the famous Mount Panorama Circuit. Remarkably, this year’s Bathurst 1000 will be Lowndes’ 300th ATCC/Supercars event becoming the first driver to ever reach the mark in the history of the championship.

He has claimed the coveted Peter Brock Trophy a staggering seven times, with his most recent win coming in 2018, the same year he retired from full-time Supercars racing.

Supercheap Auto first became involved in Australian motorsport as a team sponsor 25 years ago and were the naming rights sponsor of the Bathurst 1000 from 2005 to 2020.

On-track action of this year’s Bathurst 1000 kicks off on Thursday, with the main race to be battled on Sunday, October 9.
