For a lot of us, handing over your vehicle for a regular service service is all a bit of a mystery.
What happens from start to finish is this - how many steps do you complete?
Fit Drivers Seat Cover
Firstly a seat cover is placed over the drives seat.
Check Lights and Indicators
With the help of an assistant, all of your exterior, interior lights are checked and replaced if required.
Check Windscreen and Wipers
A check is also done on your windscreen washer jets, the ability of wiper blades to clean the windscreen and the condition of the windscreen - including cracks or chips.
Test Horn and Steering Wheel
The horn is tested and the steering wheel checked for grip condition.
Engine Oil and Filter Change
The vehicle is raised to a good working height and the engine oil is drained and filter is changed.
Under Vehicle Checks
While underneath the vehicle, a visual inspection is done of the engine and gearbox for leaks, tyre and brake condition, perished bushes and any other damage which may have occurred.
The sump plug is replaced with a new washer and the vehicle is lowered off the hoist.
Tyre Pressures
All tyre pressures are checked, including the spare.
Replace Engine Oil
The engine oil is replaced and the level checked.
Under Bonnet Fluids
All under bonnet fluids are checked for levels and condtion, and are topped up if necessary.
New Service Sticker
A new service sticker is put in place, so you know when the next is due.
Road test
The vehicle is road tested for any abnormal noises, brake shudder, knocks and so forth.
